Layla is 1 week old!

What a wonderful day, Layla is one week old and the cutest baby in the world. Layla has kept us busy and happy parents. She came home on Tuesday, June 23rd at 5:38 p.m. Since her arrival Layla has been to the doctor’s office four times, because she was jaundice. Thanks to our technology, Layla was able to receive her treatment here at home in a BiliBed. Even though she had to stay in this bed for three days and two nights, we were happy to have her at home and not at the hospital. Layla has been an active baby as she fills our hearts and lives with so much joy. To celebrate her first week, we hope you enjoy looking at these pictures of week one. Thank you for all of your prayers, warm wishes, and support. Larry and I are thrilled to have our new baby girl in our lives.

Week 38

Week 38 has been promising. After seeing the doctor today, we have come to the decision that Layla will arrive on or before Monday, June 22nd. If she does not come sometime this week, the doctor will induce Monday morning. So, the excitement inside of me is absolutely exhilarating. Larry and I will keep you up to date if something happens sooner. Larry might get to celebrate his first Father’s Day in 2009, how wonderful. Thank you for all of your prayers and support. Week 37

The week has gone by with the school year ending and summer vacation starting. As you can tell Layla has not arrived. Today, we had a sonogram that estimates that she is 7.6 pounds. According to our doctor, she is right on track. The only thing I can say I am experiencing is so discomfort from the pressure she is applying as she drops. Oh, I am also having those random braxton hicks contractions. But, it is all in love and preparation. With that said, I will go, but I will keep you put to date at the next week goes.

Week 36

Layla's room is making wonderful progress. View the pictures below. Larry painted it and has worked hard to make it perfect. We hope you think it is perfect, too. As you see the crib is missing. We are still waiting on its arrival. When a company says it could take 12 weeks, we believe it and more, now. But we are not going to panic because it will eventually arrive.
We went to the doctor yesterday and things are going well. Dr. Murff thinks Layla is almost ready. He believes she is going to be a nice size baby. So, we will have another ultrasound next week. Stay posted. More news to come.
